Phone portability
You can move your phone anywhere on campus yourself, plugging it into any campus ethernet jack and maintaining your extension and phone settings. (Note: voice network subnets are configured in Metzger, Library & Rancho. That will extend campus-wide this summer.)
Soft-phone options
This system brings the ability to use a soft-phone solution (i.e. PC-based or iPhone/Android device-based phone service) instead of, or in addition to, a physical phone handset on your desk. Cisco Jabber is the tool available with this new phone system.
Single number reach
When configured, this system will give our users the ability to tell the phone system to ring their mobile phone if they're not picking up their desk phone.
