Introduction

This page explains how to log in to and use Akindi, the new Scantron alternative at Biola University.


 

Before You Begin

Before you can create bubble sheets in Akindi, you need to create an Akindi account. You must log in to Akindi through Canvas to create your account. This will also send your class roster information into Akindi.

Log in to canvas.biola.edu.

Open the course you want to use with Akindi.

Select Launch Akindi from the left sidebar.

Click the big Launch Akindi button.

Clicking this button will sync the class roster for the selected course into Akindi.

titleImportant!

If you want to use Akindi with multiple courses, make sure you "Launch Akindi" from each course in Canvas.

Log in to

the Bizhub with your ID card or NetID

Akindi.

Log in to Akindi through Canvas using the directions above.

Select the Scan to Email option.

Note: On some Bizhubs this option might be called Fax/Scan.

Enter your Akindi email address, and press OK.

You can also add your Akindi email to the Bizhub Address Book, so that you do not need to type it every time. Your department admin or an IT Helpdesk Tech can help add your Akindi email to your Bizhub address book.

Press Start.

Your results should appear in your Akindi dashboard in a matter of moments. You may also receive an email notification once the bubble sheets are processed.

Place the bubble sheets into the Bizhub document feeder.

titleTip

For large classes, limit the scan to less than 50 sheets at a time. This will help avoid scanning errors.

 

Create an assessment.

Create your answer key online.

You can create your answer key online in Akindi, and modify it at any time (even after testing your students!).

4Print out your custom bubble sheets.

You can print your Akindi bubble sheets to any printer or bizhub on campus.

Upload your student's tests.

Once you have tested your students, scan the bubble sheets to Akindi using any Bizhub copier:

If you are off campus or do not want to use a Bizhub, you can upload your tests using any scanner or iOS device.

View Your results and data reports.

In Akindi, navigate to your course and immediate view the results of your test.

7Review any errors.

If your students forget to fill out their ID number, or mis-filled any bubbles, you can review the errors in Akindi.

8Send the results to Canvas.

 

You can also export your assessment data as a .csv, or print a copy of each student's graded bubble sheets.

9Email your students their grades.

If you want, you can email students their grades directly from Akindi. You can choose to include a scan of their bubble sheet.
