  1. Create Your Account
    1. Enter these details at the Create Your Account screen during the setup process:
      1. Full Name: Digital Signage
      2. Account Name: digsig
      3. Password: [see lastpass.com or ask]
  2. Change Computer Name
    1. Open System Preferences > Sharing
    2. Set Computer Name to the computers inventory asset number found on a label on the machine
    3. Restart the computer
  3. Configure Remote Access
    1. Open System Preferences > Sharing
    2. Check Remote Login
    3. Check Screen Sharing
  4. Configure Energy Saver Settings
    1. Open System Preferences > Energy Saver
    2. Set Computer sleep to Never
    3. Set Display sleep to Never
    4. Check Start up automatically after a power failure
  5. Configure Desktop
    1. Open System Preferences > Desktop & Screen Saver
    2. Set the desktop to a black background color
      1. Select Solid Colors
      2. Click on Custom Color...
      3. Drag the slider all the way down to black
  6. Configure Screen Saver
    1. Open System Preferences > Desktop & Screen Saver
    2. Click the Screen Saver tab
    3. Set Start screen saver to Never
  7. Disable Bluetooth
    Prevents OS X from automatically starting the Bluetooth Keyboard/Mouse window when no keyboard or mouse is detected
    1. Open System Preferences > Bluetooth
    2. If Bluetooth is on, Click on Turn Bluetooth Off
    3. Uncheck Show Bluetooth in menu bar
    4. Click the Advanced button
    5. Uncheck any of the following options that may appear
      1. Open Bluetooth Setup Assistant at startup when no input device is present
      2. Open Bluetooth Setup Assistant at startup when no keyboard is present
      3. Open Bluetooth Setup Assistant at startup when no mouse or trackpad is present
  8. Configure Software Updates
    1. Open System Preferences > Software Update or App Store
    2. Uncheck Check for updates or Automatically check for updates
  9. Install the Digital Signage Client
    1. Go to the Digital Signage Client Github page
    2. Download the "Zip" archive
    3. Unzip the downloaded file. This will create a directory like "biola-digital_signage_mac_client-bc431ca"
    4. Find the "latest_build" folder and unzip the latest zip file (ex: "v1_1.zip")
    5. Drag the "DigitalSignage" application to the /Applications directory
  10. Configure the Digital Signage Client
    1. Launch the DigitalSignage app (see these instructions if you're prompted with a security error)
    2. Press 'CMD + ,' to bring up the preferences
    3. Enter the appropriate display feed in the "Launch URL" settings field. Example: http://apps.biola.edu/signage/signs/cafeteria/display
    4. Check the "Hide mouse on launch" setting
    5. Check the "Launch in full screen" setting
    6. Restart the DigitalSignage app and make sure the slideshow plays in full screen automatically.
  11. Configure the Dock
    1. Remove everything from the dock
    2. Add the Digital Signage client to the dock
  12. Configure Start Up
    1. Open System Preferences > Accounts or Users & Groups
    2. Click Login Options
    3. Set Automatic login to Digital Signage
    4. Click Digital Signage > Login Items
    5. Make sure the Digital Signage client app is in the list of start up items.
