Video Connectors

Before connecting, make sure you know what the different connectors look like.

If your computer doesn't have a port to match one of these connectors, you'll need to use the video adapter that IT gave you when you received your Biola computer.


Audio Connectors

No additional audio connector is needed for HDMI.

If you're using an HDMI-to-VGA adapter with a Windows computer, make sure to enable sound through the 1/8-inch cable.

How to Connect a Laptop to a Projector

Plug the

VGA or

HDMI cable into your computer.

Use a video adapter if necessary.

Walk over to the control panel and push the proper video button:

  • For HDMI: The button will say either "HDMI" or "Laptop 2
".For VGA: The button will say either "VGA" or "Laptop
  • ".

If you're using an Extron control panel, push the ON button to turn on the projector.

You should now see video on the projector.

4When you're done with your presentation, push the OFF or Projector Off button on the control panel.

Take note of the IP address and Code listed on the projector screen.

Run the AirMedia application.

If a warning window appears, click OK.

Click the pause button if you want to freeze the screen so that viewers can't see what you're doing on your computer.

Click the stop button to disconnect from AirMedia.

Fill out the fields in the login window.

  • IP/Hostname: The IP address listed on the projector screen in parentheses
  • User Name: Your NetID
  • Login Code: The code listed on the projector screen.

Enter the AirMedia's IP address into the search field, then click Connect.

Click on the AirPlay menu in the system bar, and select the AirMedia unit you're connecting to.

Tip: The name of the AirMedia unit is listed in the upper left corner of the Creston screen showing on the TV.

7When prompted, enter the code that you noted earlier.

8If you want to use the TV as a separate (non-mirrored) display, click on the AirPlay menu, and select Use As Separate Display.

9When you're done presenting, click on the AirPlay menu again, and select Turn AirPlay Off.

How to Connect a Windows Laptop Using AirMedia (Crestron System)

3Take note of the IP address and Code listed on the Crestron information screen.

Run the AirMedia application.

If a warning window appears, click OK.

5Enter the AirMedia's IP address into the search field, then click Connect.

When you're done presenting, click on the Stop icon.

You can close the AirMedia application.

How to Connect a Laptop Using Solstice (Crestron System)

3Take note of the IP address and Key listed on the projector screen.

Enter the IP address in a web browser (like Chrome or Firefox).

Click Get the App & Join.

This will download the Solstice client app.

6Open the Solstice client app that you downloaded.

7Click on the Enter IP tab.

8Enter the IP address that was listed on the screen.
9Click Go.

When prompted, enter the key that was listed on the screen, and click OK.

11Choose what you want to share on the screen.

12Make sure Desktop Audio is turned on.

12When you're done presenting, click Stop Sharing, and then click Disconnect.

How to Manually Raise or Lower the Projector Screen (Crestron System)

You should ordinarily not turn the projector on and off from here.

Instead, shut the whole system down when you're done, using the red power button in the lower left corner.

Tap the Close button to exit the settings screen.
