This page explains how to gain access to and manage the Zebra Fish Lab camera for the School of Science, Technology and Health. To access the camera, users must first create a Ring account, accept the invitation to view the camera and download the Ring app.

How to Use the Zebrafish Lab Camera

Download the Ring Application from the App Store. The application will have the same icon on both the iPhone and Google/Android App Store.

You will need to create Create a Ring account using your Biola Email Address. Once you have created the account, please accept the email address:

  1. Go to Ring's Create Your Account page.
  2. The website will guide you through creating your account.

Open the email invitation that was sent over to your Biola email address to and click on manage the cameras. You will need to make sure you first download the application, create an account, and then you can click on “manage the request.”

Once you go back to the invitation email and select “manage the request” a window should appear on a web browser asking you to log into Ring. Once you have logged in, it will take you to the shared users page where you can view the invitation to request.

Click on Accept to accept the invitation to manage the Zebra Fish Lab Camerascamera.

On the home page, please click on the 3 three lines in the upper left hand corner to bring out the settings tab.

When you have expanded that

On the expanded tab, please click on the downward arrow carrot next to the location name.

Note: In this case, my location shows “Orange.”

When you click on that, it should show you other locations you can access. Since you have accepted the Ring invitation at this point, Click on La Mirada/Biola University will now appear as an option. Please click on the La Mirada/Biola Location Location option from the expanded menu

At this point in the process, it will take you to the home page of Biola University’s Zebra Fish Lab Cameras.

Click on one of the available cameras on the homepage . Once you do that, it to view the camera. The menu will expand and take you to a page to manage the camera. Click “Go Live”

10Click on Go Live to view the camera’s feed. If you want to exit out of this camera, please click on the X in the upper left hand corner. Image Removedvideo feed.

Once your camera has gone live and is connected, you can begin viewing the video stream. Directly under the video display, there are 2 options for audio. The one with the microphone icon, is to unmute your own microphone so you can talk to the participants on the side of the camera. The one with a speaker icon is to unmute the speaker so you can listen to the audio feed on the camera. The Ring cameras

Camera Feed Button Functions:

  • End Live: Stops your view of the camera feed.
  • Mic: Mute/unmute your device's mic.
  • Speaker: Turn on/off your device's speaker.

Ring camera are equipped with 2 way audio connection which means both the participants viewing/listening from the camera and the application can hear and speak to each other. In order to stop viewing the live camera please click “end live.”

If you click on the square box in the lower right hand corner of the video feed, it will take you into full screen mode of the cameras. In order to exit it, you would just need to click the red hang up button.
