This page has basic instructions on requesting access to and recording extended leave types with timecard.biola.edu.
Extended Leave Types
There are four extended leave types in timecard.biola.edu:
- Disability
- Maternity Disability
- Paid Family Leave
- Worker's Comp
Requesting access to extended leave types
Before you can record any of the above extended leave types, you must contact Human Resources (HR). HR will then enable the appropriate extended leave type for your timecard.

Recording Paid Family Leave
You must request access before accessing this feature.
- Click on the "Record Paid Family Leave" button.
- Fill in the number of hours you normally work in a day.
- PFL pays 55% of your normal work day. You must cover the final 45% with Vacation, Family Sick, or Personal time.
- Click "Save" to record the PFL information on your timecard.
- Review the recorded hours.
Recording Disability and Maternity Disability
You must request access before accessing this feature.
- Click on the "Record Disability" or "Record Maternity Disability" button.
- Follow steps 2-5 of "Recording Paid Family Leave" above.
Recording Worker's Comp
You must request access before accessing this feature.
Worker's Comp pays 1/3 of your time. You must cover the other 2/3s with paid time off. To record this follow these instructions.
- Click on the "Record Worker's Comp" button.
- Enter the number of hours you normally work in a day.
- Assign the 2/3s amount to the available leave types.
- Click "Save" to record the paid leave.
