Introduction

This page explains the steps for excluding files so that they do not get backed up to the CrashPlan server. Typically, these will be personal files like music, pictures, documents, and movies.

 

 


How to Exclude Files from a Backup

Open CrashPlan.

  • Mac: Go to the Applications folder and double-click on the CrashPlan application.
  • Windows: Go to Start menu > All Programs > CrashPlan > CrashPlan .
 
2Log in with your NetID and password.
3Click the Details button, then the Manage Files button.
4Click to navigate through your computer's folders and files. De-select the check marks next to the files you'd like to exclude from being backed-up.

Click Save.

The selected files will be immediately removed from the server, and will not be backed up in the future.
