Audio & Video Troubleshooting
Mac
Step | What to do | How to do it |

1 | Confirm the appropriate cable and/or adapter is connected. | |
2 | Make sure the desired video output option is selected on the room’s touch panel (see pictures below). | Crestron: - Press either HDMI Laptop or VGA Laptop.
Extron: - Press Display On.
- Press Laptop (VGA) or Laptop 2 (HDMI).

3 | Confirm the desired display arrangement is selected. | Click on the Apple icon on the top left of the computer and select System Preferences... Click on Displays. - Click the Arrangement tab and select or deselect Mirror Displays (as desired).

4 | Connect the computer to the podium piece by piece. | - Unplug everything from the computer.
- Plug the audio/video adapter into the computer.
- Wait 5 seconds.
- Plug the HDMI cable into the audio/video adapter.

Step | What to do | How to do it |

2 | Make sure the desired video output option is selected on the room’s touch panel (see pictures below). | Crestron: - Press either HDMI Laptop or VGA Laptop.
Extron: - Press Display On.
- Press Laptop (VGA) or Laptop 2 (HDMI).

3 | Confirm the desired display arrangement is selected. - Duplicate this Display makes the laptop and projector screen show the same image.
- Extended this Display causes the projector screen to function as a separate screen from the laptop.

- Right-click on your desktop.
- From the drop-down menu, select Display Settings.
- Scroll down to Multiple Displays.
- Select the display arrangement you desire from the drop-down menu.

4 | Connect the computer to the podium piece by piece. | - Unplug everything from the computer.
- Plug the audio/video adapter into the computer.
- Wait 5 seconds.
- Plug the HDMI cable into the audio/video adapter.

Audio-only Troubleshooting

Step | What to do | How to do it |

1 | Confirm the appropriate cable and/or adapter is connected.
| - HDMI carries audio and video. This is the preferred connection type.
- VGA carries just video, and so you will need to plug in an additional audio/headphone jack.

2 | Confirm the volume is turned up and not muted on the touch panel.
| Crestron: Tap the speaker icon on the top of the volume slider bar until it is all the way up. Make sure the Audio mute button is not highlighted.
Extron: Turn the volume knob up to an appropriate level. Make sure the Mute button is not engaged.

3 | Confirm the correct audio settings are selected in the computer's System Preferences. | Click on the Apple icon on the top left of the computer and select System Preferences... Click on Sound. - Click the Output tab and select your desired audio output.
