Lawrence Mumford
Lawrence Mumford holds a doctorate in music composition from the University of Southern California, and a masters in composition from Baltimore's Peabody Conservatory. He has taught composition, theory, and other university music courses in the Los Angeles area since 1992. He has had music published by 7 different companies, and his symphonic works, which include many extended pieces for orchestra, wind ensemble, and orchestra with soloists (concerto) and with choir, have been premiered in several states. Two of his original orchestral themes have played daily on radio in over 50 cities nationwide since 2000. He has also scored films produced in Hollywood and elsewhere, and has placed a song on a Billboard #1 album. In addition to teaching he served as the music director for 2 churches over an 11-year period, and as a prize-winning arranger he has provided scores that have been played repeatedly at seasonal concerts and at the largest church in Los Angeles.
