Introduction

This page explains the steps for creating an offline test or quiz in Canvas.

This method should be used by professors who administer tests in class and then upload scores either manually or by uploading a Scantron CSV file.

About Tests in Canvas

Canvas uses the word "Assignment" to describe any graded item that is handed in to the professor in class, including assignments, quizzes, and exams. This can be confusing. This is the standard kind of test most professors use.

When Canvas uses the word "Quiz," it means a test that students take online, within Canvas, using a web browser.
