"Lorene Panter, (B.A., Christian Ed), 21, pert, red-haired, brown-eyed. Lorene grew up on an 80-acre potato and cotton farm near Wasco, a community of 6,500 in California’s rich Central Valley. Her mother, now dead, attended Biola, wanted her children to follow in her steps. So far a brother and three sisters have graduated and this spring another sister will graduate with Lorene. One sister and brother-in-law are now on mission field in South America. Home church is First Baptist of Wasco where she was a substitute Sunday school teacher. At Biola she sang (alto) with Accent on Youth broadcast, was second vice-president of King's Daughters organization, staff reporter for school paper. Worked 20 hours a week for three years in school dining room, one year in insurance office. After a summer at Mount Hermon, where the family has a cabin, Lorene plans further training with the mission field a possible goal."
