J. H. Sammis (1846-1919) was a Presbyterian minister who served at Biola as editor of The King's Business. He is most famous as author of the hymn "Trust and Obey." He also wrote the words to other hymns, including "Let It Be Known" and "He's a Friend of Mine."The King's Business, Vol. 1.4, April 1910, pg 63, [& Vol. 10.1, January 1919, pg 91, http://www2.biola.edu/kingsbusiness/view/page/?issue=1&volume=10&page=90] His relative (daughter? sister?), Miss Marian Sammis was also involved in the ministry at Biola, The King's Business states that she gave a solo for the Young People's Meeting on July 7th, 1910.The King's Business, Vol. 1.7, July 1910, pg 113, http://www2.biola.edu/kingsbusiness/view/1/7/17
