Biola provides a Cisco desk phone to every benefitted Biola Staff and Faculty for use at assigned desk at Biola. This phone allows them to make on-campus calls to other Staff or Faculty using extensions as well as off-campus calls domestically and internationally. Biola's Phone service relies on VoIP technology to make and receive calls over a wired network connection.

Biola employees may also make and receive phone calls from their computer or smart phone using Cisco Jabber. Biola Staff, Faculty are required to use Cisco Jabber to make or receive phone calls when working remotely or if a physical phone is not required.

    How to Request the Service

    Phone:

    • New Employees: IT will reach out to the supervisor for a new employee to set up the phone for the new employee.
    • Request a Department Phone: Contact the IT Helpdesk.

    Cisco Jabber:

    • Faculty/Staff Jabber Install: They should install Jabber using Biola Self Service.

    • Student Employees: Their supervisor should contact the IT Helpdesk.
    Requirements for the Service

    Phone:

    • Active NetID and password
    • The Staff or Faculty affiliation
    • An active ethernet port

    Cisco Jabber:

    • Active NetID and password
    • The Staff or Faculty affiliation
    • A computer or Android/iOS Smartphone
    • A wired or wireless network connection
