Zoom breakout rooms allow a meeting hosts to temporarily break participants into smaller Zoom meetings for small-group discussion. Hosts can set the breakout duration, automatically or manually assign participants to rooms and may join any breakout room at any time.

Before a Meeting

Meeting owners can only automatically make a paid user account a cohost for scheduled meetings by adding them as an Alternative Host.

Meeting hosts can make any basic or paid account participant a cohost during a meeting.

Step	What to do
1	Press the Participants button on the Classroom Zoom touch panel.
2	Press the name of the participant you wish to make a cohost.
3	Press Make Co-host.
5	Press OK to confirm that you would like to assign the listed participant as a meeting co-host.

Meeting hosts can make any basic or paid account participant a cohost during a meeting.

1	Click the Participants button.
2	Hover your mouse over the participant's name and click More.
3	Click Make Co-Host.
5	They should now be a cohost in your meeting.
