Express Messaging

This set of features allows you to create a voice message and send it to a Cisco Unity voicemail box without first ringing the extension. 

(Please note: voicemail messages cannot be transferred between the new Cisco phone system and the main campus phone system. As the main campus is converted, this feature will be restored.)

While logged into your voice mailbox 

    1. From your own phone, press the Messages button. Enter your password. 

    2. Press 2 to Send a Message.

    3. Record your message, then press #.

    4. Spell the name of the person to whom you want to send your message.

    5. Press # when finished adding recipients.

    6. Press # to send the message.

    7. Hang up to complete the call and deposit the message.

Without first logging into your voice mailbox 

    1. From your own phone, press the Messages button. 

    2. Press #.

    3. Enter the destination extension, plus #2 (for example, 4800#2).

    4. Record your message.

    5. Hang up to complete the call and deposit the message.

    6. Note: the # button may also be pressed to hear messaging options prior to completing the call.
