Express Messaging
This set of features allows you to create a voice message and send it directly to a Cisco Unity voicemail box without first ringing the extension.
Express Messaging from your VoIP Phone or Jabber
- Enter # and the 4-digit destination extension (or "your own extension")
- Record your message.
- Hang up to complete the call and deposit the message.
Note: the # button may also be pressed to hear messaging options prior to completing the call.
Express Messaging from Off-Campus
- Call (562) 944-0351 from any phone
- Dial 4700#
- Enter the 4-digit destination extension (or "your own extension") and immediately press #2
- Record your message.
- Hang up to complete the call and deposit the message.

Send an Express Message to an Extension using a Saved Number
- Send the following dial string to your mobile phone via email or text message.
- +15629440351,,4700#,,extension#2
- replace "extension#" with your 4-digit extension
- replace "password#" with your 6-digit voicemail PIN
- +15629440351,,4700#,,extension#2
- Save this string on your mobile phone's address book to dial again later.
While logged into your voice mailbox
- From your own phone, press the Messages button. Enter your 6-digit voicemail PIN.
- Press 2 to Send a Message.
- Record your message, then press #.
- Spell the name of the person to whom you want to send your message.
- Press # when finished adding recipients.
- Press # to send the message.
- Hang up to complete the call and deposit the message.
Without first logging into your voice mailbox
- Press #, enter the destination extension (for example, #4800).
- Lift up the handset or press the softkey with label "Call".
- Record your message.
- Hang up to complete the call and deposit the message.

Transferring a live call directly to voice mail
- Press the "Transfer" Button.
- Press #, enter the destination extension (for example, #4800), then immediately press "Transfer" to complete.
