Introduction

This page describes the process of how to remotely make or receive Biola-related phone calls. Users who may need to use this page include Biola Faculty/Staff who need to work remotely and do not have direct access to their Cisco desk phone.

There are two options Faculty/Staff can pursue. The first is to use Biola's softphone option (Cisco Jabber) that allows users to make/receive phone calls on a Biola computer or iOS/Android device. The other option is to forward all calls made to your Biola desk phone to a personal phone number.

Note (for users unable to use Cisco Jabber):

    • Calls made to/from your personal phone (outside of Cisco Jabber) may list your phone number to the person on the other end of the call.
    • Calls made to or from a personal phone may be subject to your service provider's service rates. Please talk with HR and your department supervisor to determine if reimbursement for these charges may be possible.
