1. Who owns recordings of class lectures? |

In accordance with the Copyright Policy (the “Policy”) in Section 3.8 of the Employee Handbook, the ownership of Scholarly Works vests with the faculty member who created the work, unless one of the enumerated exceptions in the Policy applies. The recordings of class lectures are considered Scholarly Works under the Policy. As such, the ownership of such recordings vests with the faculty member, unless an exception under the Policy applies. |
2. Can Biola use the recordings in the future without the faculty member's permission? |

No, unless one of the following enumerated exceptions in the Policy applies: (1) institutional works, (2) written agreement, (3) outside agreements, or (4) exceptional use of University resources. Please see the Policy for further details on these exceptions. |
3. How long will the recordings remain in the Cloud? Will the recordings be deleted at the end of the semester? |

- The recordings will remain until after term ends and grades are posted. Recordings will be deleted at the beginning of the next term.
- The recordings will be put into each faculty’s Zoom trash for 30 days before being permanently deleted. The recording can be individually recovered by faculty during this time.
- Faculty can sign into their Zoom account at any time and delete the recordings.

4. Does each faculty member have control over their own recordings? |

- Faculty have control over the recordings. The recordings are stored in each Faculty's Zoom account.
- The individual recordings are curated in the corresponding Canvas course for students to view, but it remains stored and managed by the Faculty to whom the meeting belongs. They can download or share them using a share link as desired.

5. How can faculty retain recordings long-term? |
