Cisco Jabber
Biola's new VoIP phone system adds a computer-based phone application called Cisco Jabber to be used instead of – or in addition to – the physical phone handset on your desk.
Directory enhancements
There are new ways of finding and contacting employees using the new VoIP phone system. Search for employees and immediately initiate a call using the corporate directory on the VoIP phone or by searching from within Cisco Jabber.

Instant messaging (Jabber)
You can use Cisco Jabber to chat with other employees.
Phone portability
You can move your new VoIP phone anywhere on campus yourself, plugging it into any administrative office ethernet jack while maintaining your own phone number/extension, phone settings, and calling privileges.
Presence
See presence status (available / away / on a call) of contacts on your phone and in Cisco Jabber..
Send calls to voicemail
You can send an incoming call to your voicemail on-demand by pressing the Decline soft button.
Single Number Reach
In the Cisco Self-Care Portal you can configure the new VoIP phone system to ring your mobile phone simultaneous to ringing your desk phone.
Speed dial numbers
You can also create personal speed dial numbers on your new VoIP phone using the Cisco Self-Care Portal. These can be used to quickly dial favorite numbers.
Video calling (Jabber)
Using Cisco Jabber and your computer's camera, you now have the option of placing video calls to other Biola employees also using the Cisco Jabber application.
Visual voicemail (Jabber)
Use Cisco Jabber to interact with your voicemail in list form, right within the application. Voicemail messages can be played, deleted, or returned easily from your computer.
