Use the Biola University Phone System Self Service Portal to enable simultaneous ringing of your desk phone and one or more remote phones (e.g., your home phone, cellular phone, etc.).
Single Number Reach (Voice Mobility)
- Login to myphone.biola.edu using your NetID and password.
- Click the Single Number Reach button on the Dashboard or from the left menu.
- Click the New Remote Destination button and type in the Name and the Phone Number.
- Name can be any descriptive text you want (e.g., Your name’s cell phone number, etc.)
- Number is the remote phone number that you want to ring alongside your desk phone. This can be another 4-digit extension number or an outside number. If it's an outside number, prefix the 10-digit number with 91, e.g, 915624445566.
- Click Save.
- Check Enable Move to Mobile. This feature enables you to move an ongoing call from your desk phone to the remote destination phone.
- To move an ongoing call to your remote phone, click the Mobility softkey on your desk phone and then select Send call to Mobile Phone and the current call will transfer to your remote phone. Your remote phone will ring.
- Upon picking up the call, you will be prompted to press any key. The call will move to your remote phone after pressing any key.
- To move the call back to your desk phone, simply hang up the call on your remote phone and click the Resume softkey on your desk phone.
- Timer Information. This section can be left at the default settings.
- Ring Schedule
- This allows you to define a custom schedule for ringing the remote phone. Define your desired business hours (example below), and set the Time Zone to (GMT-8:00) America/Los_Angeles.
