Dr. John McKinley is an Assistant Professor of Biblical and Theological Studies. His specialties are in Christology and sanctification, in line with his dissertation, "A Relational Model of Christ's Impeccability and Temptation." He pursued his doctorate in systematic theology because of an overwhelming desire to know God. Dr. McKinley's research focuses on the humanity of Christ, particularly as related to Jesus' experience of temptation to sin, his life in the Holy Spirit, and the relevance of Christ's life as a pattern for our daily living. Dr. McKinley has served in an inner-city ministry with Campus Crusade for Christ, and more recently as a youth pastor for four years. This combination of training and ministry experiences compels Dr. McKinley to connect biblical doctrine to daily life, and to find the ways that our biographies become parts of God's great story of redemption in Christ. Dr. McKinley loves to learn and to teach what God has revealed to us in the Scriptures. Systematic theology is a means to that end of understanding and growth in Christ.
