Introduction

Biola uses CrashPlan to back up computer data.

This page explains how to check to see if CrashPlan is backing up your data.

If you suspect that CrashPlan is not backing up, contact the IT Helpdesk using one of the methods listed in the sidebar.


Check for CrashPlan in Windows

StepWhat to DoHow It Looks
1Click on the arrow in the System Tray, and look for the CrashPlan icon. You can put your mouse arrow over the icon to see the backup status.

Backing up:Backing up

Look at the color of the CrashPlan icon.

If the icon is black, then CrashPlan is backing up.

If the icon is gray or absent, then CrashPlan is not backing up.

Not backing up:Not backing up

Look at the color of the CrashPlan icon.

If the icon is black, then CrashPlan is backing up.

3You can click on the CrashPlan icon to view CrashPlan's status.
