Back-up Your Computer Using CrashPlan
Step | What to Do | What It Looks Like |
---|---|---|
1 | Windows: Click on in the bottom left corner of the screen. | |
2 | Type CrashPlan. | |
4 | Select CrashPlan (Mac) or Code42 CrashPlan (Windows) from the search results. | |
5 | Have you logged in to CrashPlan before?
| |
6 | Click Details. | |
7 | Click on Run backup now to initiate a backup. Backups will happen automatically every 15 minutes after that. After your computer has finished backing up for the first time, you can quickly check if your computer is backing up on CrashPlan. |
If your CrashPlan account says, "Synchronizing" please wait up to 3 days to allow the CrashPlan server to take inventory of what files/folders need to be backed up on your computer. If it does not complete after 3 days, please contact the IT Helpdesk for assistance.
Note: Connecting your computer to the internet using a wired ethernet connection will help decrease the wait time for the synchronizing process to complete.
