Adding and Removing a Proxy
This page contains basic instructions for supervisors to grant or revoke proxy access in timecard.biola.edu.
What is a proxy?
A proxy is another employee that you, or Human Resources (HR), has given access to act in a supervisory role on your behalf in the Timecard system.
A proxy has the following abilities in Timecard:
- See all of the employees that report to you, including timecards and Banner position data
- Approve or return timecards for you
- Optional: Receive supervisory timecard notifications for you
A proxy cannot do the following
- Fill out your own timecard or paid leave report
- Submit your timecard or paid leave report on your behalf
- Approve or return his/her own timecard, in the case that the proxy works for you
Adding a proxy
- Sign in to Timecard. See Accessing your current timecard (or paid leave record).
- Click on the icon to bring up the Supervise menu.
- Click on "Proxies" under the Supervise menu.
- Type the person's name in the search field and select the correct auto-suggest option.
- Click the "+" button to add this person as your proxy.
Removing a proxy
Follow steps 1, 2, and 3 under "Adding a proxy" to get to your list of current proxies.
To remove a proxy, click on the "Remove" button next to that proxy's photo, name, and title.
Changing a proxy's notification settings
Check or uncheck the "Receive Notification Emails" setting to control whether or not a proxy receives the same supervisor notifications for your employees that you do.
When to configure a proxy to receive notifications
We recommend you configure a proxy to receive notifications when:
- you are going on vacation or leave and will not be reviewing or approving timecards, or
- you want this person to always review and approve timecards for you
