Introduction
This page describes the process of how to remotely make or receive Biola-related phone calls. Users who may need to use this page include Biola Faculty/Staff who need to work remotely and do not have direct access to their Cisco desk phone.
There are two options Faculty/Staff can pursue. The first is to use Biola's softphone option (Cisco Jabber) that allows users to make/receive phone calls on a Biola computer or iOS/Android device. The other option is to forward all calls made to your Biola desk phone to a personal phone number.
Note (for users unable to use Cisco Jabber):
- Calls made to/from your personal phone (outside of Cisco Jabber) may list your phone number to the person on the other end of the call.
- Calls made to or from a personal phone may be billed to their personal phone provider for the calls. Please talk with HR and your department supervisor to determine if reimbursement for these charges may be possible.
