Introduction

Some users have reported an inability to share content in Zoom after upgrading the macOS on their computer. When they attempt to share content, they encounter error icons with an exclamation point.

This page lists the steps needed to resolve the issue.


macOS Big Sur or Later

In Zoom, double-click your desired share option.

Click Open System Preferences on the Zoom pop-up window.

In the Apple System Preferences window, click the padlock at the bottom left, type your computer password and click Unlock.

Check the box next to zoom.us.

Note: If you do not see the zoom.us option, do the following,

  1. Click the plus button under where zoom.us should be.
  2. Search for zoom.us in the search bar located at the top-right of the pop-up window.
  3. Click zoom.us from the search results and click Open.
  4. Proceed to the next step.

Click Quit & Reopen.


macOS Mojave or Earlier

Click the Apple icon at the top-left of your computer and select System Preferences.

Click Security & Privacy.

Click Recording.

In the Apple System Preferences window, click the padlock at the bottom left, type your computer password and click Unlock.

Check the box next to zoom.us.

Note: If you do not see the zoom.us option, you will need to uninstall and re-install Zoom.

6Screen sharing will be enabled once you quit and reopen the Zoom app.
