Introduction

This page explains the steps for importing (or "migrating") your Google contacts list into Outlook. This applies to Windows PC users.

This procedure is useful for those who use Outlook to access their Google email (Gmail).

 


How to Export a Contacts Group from Gmail

1Go in to your Biola Gmail (via web browser).

Click on the Mail menu, and select Contacts.

This opens your Google Contacts.

3Click on the More button and select Export.... 
4Select the radio button for The group.
5Click on the drop-down menu to select the group you want to migrate.
6Select the Outlook CSV radio button.
7Click Export.
8Select a location to save the exported .csv file (Example: Desktop).
9Name the .csv file appropriately (Example: "Starts with A.csv")
10Click Save.

1Open Outlook. 
2Open the People section (Ctrl+3). 
3Right-click on Contacts and select New Folder Group.
4Name the folder appropriately.
5Select Contacts from the folder tree.
6Click OK.
7Open the File menu, and select Open & Export. 
8Select Import/Export.
