The roots of Residence Life can be traced all the way back to the founding of Biola in the offices of Dean of Men and Dean of Women. Today Residence Life functions under the umbrella of the department of Student Development and helps communicate and enforce Biola community standards.

Mission:

Directing Conversations & Communities of Life-Transforming Influence.

Values:

These values, also referred to as the Pillars of Residence Life, are the ideas that drive and give form and shape to all that we do in our department:

Kingdom Minded

Relationship Focused

Growing Together

Genuine Care

Intentionality

Whole-Person Development

Excellence

The Student Development page on the official Biola website has this to say about the department of Residence Life:

Working with students to offer training in interpersonal relationships and leadership, organize Bible studies, provide peer counseling, and generate lots of good clean fun.
