Introduction

This page explains the procedure to connect the Streamer accessibility service to Zoom web-conferencing.

How to Connect Streamer to Zoom

When to Use:

When you would like to enable Streamer accessibility functionality to a Zoom web-conference.

StepWhat to doWhat it looks like
1

Before the start of your Zoom event, open a Chrome browser, go to https://streamer.center/, and login using your streamer credentials.

Note: If you've forgotten your Streamer credentials, please go to Streamer's Forgot Password webpage, enter your username (yourFirstName.yourLastName) and click Request reset. You will then receive a password reset link.

2Click on the room you have been assigned.

3Go to your Zoom meeting and click on Closed Captions in the bottom toolbar and click Copy the API token.

4Go back to the Streamer room and click Streamer Settings in the upper right-hand corner and select Zoom Closed Caption.

5Paste the API token there. Leave the buffer at Medium or select Long if you prefer (this increases the delay on the captions but makes it slightly more accurate as it gives the algorithm time to auto-correct based on context). Click Start.

6

Streamer should now be feeding captions into Zoom.

7

Make sure your microphone is on in the Streamer Room (the mic button in the bottom left corner should be green).

Note: The microphone must be on in the Streamer Room for the captions to appear in Zoom.

Note: If you have any questions, please contact the IT Helpdesk at ithelpdesk@biola.edu and the Universal Access Manager will get back to you.
