Introduction

Note: This information is relevant for older versions of Crashplan before the backup service change to Crashplan Cloud. For information about CrashPlan Cloud, please reference How to Back Up Data to CrashPlan Cloud.

These instructions will help you back up your computer's data to Biola's CrashPlan service.

Step	What to Do	What It Looks Like
1	Windows: Click on in the bottom left corner of the screen. Mac: Click on the in the top right corner of the screen.
2	Type CrashPlan.
4	Select CrashPlan (Mac) or CrashPlan PROe (Windows) from Select Code42 CrashPlan from the search results. Image Removed Image Removed If you're using an older version of CrashPlan on a Mac, search CrashPlan instead.	Image Added Image Added
5	Have you logged in to CrashPlan before? If yes, login log in using your Biola NetID and password.	Image Removed	If no, click on Sign up for an account User . Enter your Biola NetID and password to complete into the Username and Password fields.	Image RemovedImage Added
7	Click the Details button next to your computer.	Image Removed

6	Click on Run backup now to initiate a backup. Backups will happen automatically every 15 minutes after that.	Image Added
7	Depending on size of files and the speed of your connection, your CrashPlan back up may take a while to complete a "Synchronizing" process. Note: If your computer says, "Synchronizing," please leave your computer on overnight and connected to the internet (using a wired ethernet connection, if possible) if you are off-campus. If it does not complete and confirm a recent back up date after 3 days, please contact the IT Helpdesk for assistance.
9	After your computer has finished backing up for the first time, you can quickly check if your computer is backing up on CrashPlan.
