Printing from a Personal Computer

Step 1: Confirm Funds in Your Account

How to check your student account balance

Step	How to do it
1	Navigate to biola.edu/eaccounts in a browser.
2	Log in using your NetID & password.
3	You should be able to see the balance for each of your Biola eaccount accounts.

Note: You can add additional funds on the Load your Biola ID card using e-Accounts webpage.

How to check your guest card balance

Step 2: Install Biola's Print Software

Step	How to Install
1	Download the Pharos Installer: Pharos Installer Link.
2	Open the Pharos_Student.dmg on your desktop.
3	Run the Popup.pkg installer file.
4	Click Continue to progress through the installer. Enter your computer password when prompted.
5	If prompted, download and install the appropriate drivers from Apple's website.

Install print software on a PC

Step	How to Install
1	Download the Pharos Installer: Pharos Installer Link.
2	If prompted about allowing an unknown publisher to make changes, select Yes.
3	Click the Install button.
4	When Pharos is done installing, click Finish to close the installer program.

Step 3: Print Your Document

How to print a document

Step	How to do it
1	Print your document.
2	Select the appropriate destination printer: Print Release Station: Biola Student Printers Copier: Biola_Student_Copiers
3	Enter your NetID, and a name for the print job. Note: Make sure not to confuse the Job name field with the Password field.
4	Click Continue.
5	Enter your NetID password.
6	Click Print.

Step 4: Retrieve Your Printout

Step 2: Copy or Scan Your Document

How to Copy on a Copier

Step	How to do it
1	Slide/tap your Biola ID card on the copier. Note: If you don't have your ID card, you can type your NetID and password.
2	Select OK, then select OK again.
3	Press the Copy button below the screen to choose the function you'd like to do.
4	Place your document on the glass, or in the top feeder for multiple pages.
5	Enter the number of copies on the number pad.
6	Press the green Start button.
7	Click the Access button twice on the control panel to log out. Note: If you forget this step, it will automatically log out after two minutes.

How to Scan on a Copier

Step	How to do it
1	Slide/tap your Biola ID card on the copier. Note: If you don't have your ID card, you can type your NetID and password.
2	Select OK, then select OK again.
3	Press the Fax/Scan button below the screen. Note: This opens the Address Book.
4	Select the Email Me button to send the scan to your email account.
5	Select your personal share point button to scan to your share point folder. (Example: "PC (SMB) FirstName")
6	Place your document on the glass, or in the top feeder for multiple pages.
7	Press the green Start button. Note Gmail file size limit is 25MB (about 25 pages BW, 10 pages Color). You will not see a confirmation message. Check your email account to confirm.
8	Click the Access button twice on the control panel to log out. Note: If you forget this step, it will automatically log out after two minutes.

How to Scan Your Document

Step	How to do it
1	Open Image Capture from Macintosh HD/Applications/.
2	Select Show Details in the bottom right corner of the window.
3	Select a desired Scan to location.
4	Name the file.
5	Fill out all desired scan preferences.
6	Click Scan.

Dept. Printing from a Personal Computer

Step 1: Install Biola's Print Software

HP Copier Installer

Step	How to do it
1	Download the Pharos Installer: Pharos Installer Link.

3	Enter your NetID, and a name for the print job. Note: Make sure not to confuse the Job name field with the Password field.
4	Click Continue.
5	Enter your NetID password.
6	Click Print.

3	Select Department Account.
4	Select the correct account for billing.
5	Select Secure_Print (on the left of the touchscreen).
6	Select the job(s) that you want to print. If you select individual jobs, you'll have to push the Start button on the control panel. If you select "Print All", it will automatically print all of your jobs.
7	Click the Access button twice on the control panel to log out. Note: If you forget this step, it will automatically log out after two minutes.

Step	How to do it
1	Click the magnifying glass on the top right of the computer screen.
2	Type Printers & Scanners and press the return key on the keyboard.
3	Confirm all needed printers are installed.

How to install missing printers on Mac

Step	How to do it
1	Click on the magnifying glass on the right of the computer screen.
2	Type Self Service and press the return key on the keyboard.
3	Log in to the Self Service application with your NetID and password.
4	Click the Department Printers tab on the left side of the Self Service window.
5	Locate the desired printer and click the Install button.

PC Process

Step	How to do it
1	Click the magnifying glass on the bottom left of the computer screen.
2	Type Print Mangement and press the enter key on the keyboard.
3	Click on the All Printers option on the left side of the new window.
4	Confirm all needed printers are installed.

How to install missing printers on PC

Step	How to do it

2	Locate and click on the name of your department.
3	Save the printer installer file to your computer's desktop.
4	Locate the printer installer file on your computer's desktop and double-click on it.
5	Click the Yes button on the pop-up window.
6	Click the Install button on the Pharos installer window.
7	Click the Finish button once the install has completed.

Secure Print (Delayed) Printing from a Biola Computer

Step 1: Add money to your account

You'll need to add Student$ to your account so you can use them with your ID card.

- Add money to your student dollars with a credit card by going to biola.edu/eaccounts.
- Add money with cash at the red fill stations next to Tech Commons on the middle level of the Library.

Step 2: Print your document

Print a document from a Library computer.

- Log in with your NetID and password
- Print your document
- Sign into the Pharos Print Popup with your NetID and password. Make sure not to confuse the Description field with the Password field.

Step 3: Retrieve your printed document

You can retrieve your printout from one of the printers in the Library.

- Locate a release station in the Library (there are several in the Library and four next to Tech Commons).
- On the computer station next to the printer, swipe your ID card or type your NetID and password.
- Select the printout you want and print.
- The printout will be available on the printer next to the computer station.
