Introduction

Zoom breakout rooms allow a meeting hosts to temporarily break participants into smaller Zoom meetings for small-group discussion. Hosts can set the breakout duration, automatically or manually assign participants to rooms and may join any breakout room at any time.


Before a Meeting

Meeting owners can automatically make a paid user account a cohost for scheduled meetings by adding them as an Alternative Host.


During a Meeting: From the Zoom Classroom

Meeting hosts can make any basic or paid account participant a cohost during a meeting.

StepWhat to do

Press the Participants button on the Classroom Zoom touch panel.

Press the name of the participant you wish to make a cohost.

3Press Make Co-host.
5Press OK to confirm that you would like to assign the listed participant as a meeting co-host.

During a Meeting: From a Computer

Meeting hosts can make any basic or paid account participant a cohost during a meeting.

StepWhat to do

Click the Participants  button.

Hover your mouse over the participant's name and click More.

3Click Make Co-Host.
5They should now be a cohost in your meeting.
