Citrix Workspace Being Decommissioned

Citrix Workspace will be decommissioned at the end of April 2023. Please use the following method to access the Apologetics-DB going forward and contact the IT Helpdesk for assistance.

Introduction

This page explains how to access the Apologetics-DB that was previously hosted on Citrix Workspace, on MacOS devices, using the apologetics-db.ad.biola.edu server as a new location to host the application.

Note: To connect to the database from off campus, you'll first need to connect to Biola's network using VPN


How to connect to apologetics-db.ad.biola.edu on a Mac

Note: These instructions require Microsoft Remote Desktop to be installed. If you don't have it installed, please do so using the instructions on how to install it found here: Install Microsoft Remote Desktop on a Biola-Owned Mac

Open Microsoft Remote Desktop.

Click the "+" drop-down menu and select "Add PC"

3Enter apologetics-db.ad.biola.edu in the "PC Name:" field, and click "Add"

4Double-click the icon for the newly added server.

You'll be prompted to enter your credentials. Enter "BIOLA\<netID>" and then your password.

Click "Continue" to connect to the apologetics-db.ad.biola.edu server.

On the desktop, double-click on the "Appologetics DB" icon


Note:
The "Apologetics" folder on the desktop is a shortcut of the folder found
at the following path:

\\files.biola.edu\apologetics

and the "apolo-db" folder is a shortcut to the folder that houses the Access database:

\\files.biola.edu\apolo-db

Sign in with your NetID and the password used to access the database.
