Al graduated in 1918, and in November 1919 he wrote, "We are at the Torrance Baptist church were we have been for three months, during which time the church in every department has been greatly blessed of the Lord. We have had a number of conversions and have been privileged to take in twenty-two new members. We are intending to further our education by going to University this fall if the Lor so wills.
