Christian Workers Conference

The Christian Workers' Conference was held at the Bible Institute June 20-30, 1910. It was judged very successful and referred to as The First Annual. Speakers included Dr. McAfee (insert full name) and Gilchrist from Berkeley and San Francisco, along with a number of Los Angeles speakers: Pritchard, Locke, Russel Greaves, Dr. Wishard, J. R. Pratt, J. H. Habbick, Rev. Mr. Buell, Miss Cogswell, Mrs. Manson, Mr. Ematt, Mr. Jamieson, Mr. Leary, Mr. Sweet, Robert Watchorn, Mr. McVey, and Samuel Ingham Merrill. The editorialist in The King's Business (unsigned, but probably J. H. Sammis) declared that their participation "demonstrated the self-sufficiency of Los Angeles to supply the intellectual, experimental, and spiritual helpers for such a gathering."The King's Business, Vol. 1.8, August-September 1910, pg 161, [It had the theme of "Evangelism and Evangelization."The King's Business], Vol, 1.6, June 1910, pg 97
