Jamie Y. Whitaker Campbell
Dr. Jamie Y. Whitaker Campbell, J.D. is a an assistant professor in the Torrey Honors Institute at Biola University. After earning her B.A. in Humanities from Biola University, Prof. Campbell moved to Washington, D.C., where she earned a J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center. While at Georgetown, she had the unique opportunity of arguing as amicus curiae before the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit. After law school, Prof. Campbell briefly worked in intellectual property and pharmaceutical law before accepting her current position. Having grown up as an African-American in Japan, Prof. Campbell expresses and appreciates distinct perspectives on various issues such as multiculturalism, literature, justice, education, and writing. All of the art displayed in the home she shares with her husband Andrew is her own creative work.
