INTERDENOMINATIONAL
Interdenominational is the term used by the founders to characterize the Bible Institute's position in cooperating with all evangelical churches. By respecting existing denominational lines, the term "interdenominational" was a term designed to reassure churches that the Bible Institute was not in competition with them.
Evidence of the interdenominational position:
Reuben Archer Torrey helped shape the interdenominational strategy during his years as an evangelist, identifying himself as an Episcopaleopresbygationalaptist when asked what church he belonged to (see Robert Harkness' Reuben Archer Torrey: the Man... His Message, p. 68)
At the 1910 Christian Workers Conference, Mr. Sweet said "It takes the Methodist to dig the sinner up, the Baptist to wash him, and the Presbyterian to put in the starch and the blue." http://www2.biola.edu/kingsbusiness/view/1/8/5
