Biola History Wiki

The Biola History Wiki aims to be a complete and comprehensive source for the history of Biola University. The wiki consists of about 1,000 pages covering various topics related to Biola history. In order to prevent vandalism and false information, only registered users may edit pages on the wiki.

Early History

Work on the Biola History Wiki began in August 2008. The initial brains behind the wiki were Dr. Fred Sanders and Dr. Gerald Fisher. In its early days, work on the wiki consisted mostly of copying information from sources such as blog posts or articles of The King's Business. Much of this was done to give an example of what the wiki could look like when it was finished, until the wiki project could be approved by Metzger.

Biola History Meta-Torrey

After the founding work on the wiki was completed, Dr. Sanders offered an experimental History of Biola class as a meta-Torrey for the Spring 2009 semester. From February until May 2009, Dr. Sanders and ten Torrey students made the wiki their major class project. Over the course of the semester, 830 hours were put into building and editing the wiki (including research). Most students picked unique topics to focus on as individual projects. Several Easter eggs were also left by the students for future users. On May 6th, 2009, Fernando Rojas and Nate Rupprecht joined Dr. Sanders as System Operators.
