Blackstone Forest
The Blackstone Forest was established by the State of Israel on Mt. Herzl outside Jerusalem in 1965 on the 75th anniversary of the Blackstone Memorial. The forest commemorates the life of William E. Blackstone a righteous Gentile and father of the Zionist movement (October 6, 1841 to November 7, 1935). If you visit the Yad Vashem Holocaust Memorial in Jerusalem, you can walk the paths of the Blackstone Forest on the way up the hill to Herzl’s home, also a national monument.
