Ruth Ebeling is the daughter of William Ebeling, the third president of the Hunan Bible Institute. She graduated from Biola College in 1969, with a Bachelors of Science. After receiving her Masters of Science in biology from California State University at Long Beach, she went on to teach at the Cleveland Chiropractic College in Los Angeles for 20 years. She later returned to Biola University as Laboratory Assistant, later to become Assistant Professor of Biology in the Biological Sciences Department. She is now Associate Professor of Biology.

She has taught and/or currently teaches the following courses:
