This is a list of the names that have been used for groups of Torrey students. The names are rotated, so that (for example) when the students of Dante 2010 graduate as seniors, there will be a new Dante group of incoming freshmen.

Trivia

  • Although the groups are mostly named after authors that have been part of the Torrey curriculum at one time, not all of the authors are currently studied. Current group namesakes who are not studied include Gregory of Nyssa and Tolkien.
  • Names that were considered for groups but ultimately rejected include Ovid and Keats.
  • Francis and Xenia were originally one group, established in the Fall 2006 semester. However, due to the group's large size, a second group was created from the first.
