How to Print/Copy at Biola

Introduction:

This page describes the process of how to print and copy at Biola using various print and copy means available to the community. If you don't see instructions for an offered print or copy method you would like to use, please contact the IT Helpdesk at 562.903.4740 or email us at it.helpdesk@biola.edu.

Printing
 Dept. Printing from a Personal Computer

Step 1: Install Biola's Print Software

 Install print software on a Mac
 HP Copier Installer
StepHow to do it
1Download the Pharos Installer: Pharos Installer Link.
2Open the Pharos_Student.dmg on your desktop.
3Run the Popup.pkg installer file.
4Click Continue to progress through the installer. Enter your computer password when prompted.
5If prompted, download and install the appropriate drivers from Apple's website.
 Konica Minolta Copier Installer
StepHow to do it
1Download the Pharos Installer: Pharos Installer Link.
2Open the Pharos_Student.dmg on your desktop.
3Run the Popup.pkg installer file.

3Click the Install button.
4When Pharos is done installing, click Finish to close the installer program.

Step 2: Print Your Document

Print your document.

Select the appropriate destination printer:

  • Konica Minolta Copier: Secure_Print_Popup
  • HP Copier: Secure_Print_HP_Popup

Enter your NetID, and a name for the print job.

Note: Make sure not to confuse the Job name field with the Password field.

4Click Continue.
5Enter your NetID password.
6Click Print.

Step 3: Retrieve Your Printout

Slide/tap your Biola ID card on the copier.

Note: If you don't have your ID card, you can type your NetID and password.

2Select a Cost Center.

Select Department Account.

4Select the correct account for billing.
5Select Secure_Print (on the left of the touchscreen).
6Select the job(s) that you want to print.
  • If you select individual jobs, you'll have to push the Start button on the control panel.
  • If you select "Print All", it will automatically print all of your jobs.

Click the Access button twice on the control panel to log out.

Note: If you forget this step, it will automatically log out after two minutes.

 Dept. Printing from Biola Computer - Direct Print

Step 1: Ensure Dept. Printers Are Installed

1Click the magnifying glass on the top right of the computer screen.
2Type Printers & Scanners and press the return key on the keyboard.
3Confirm all needed printers are installed.

1Click on the magnifying glass on the right of the computer screen.
2Type Self Service and press the return key on the keyboard.
3Log in to the Self Service application with your Biola email address and password.
4Click the Department Printers tab on the left side of the Self Service window.
5Locate the desired printer and click the Install button.
 PC Process
StepHow to do it
1Click the magnifying glass on the bottom left of the computer screen.
2Type Print Management and press the enter key on the keyboard.
3Click on the All Printers option on the left side of the new window.
4Confirm all needed printers are installed.
 How to install missing printers on PC
StepHow to do it
1Open a browser window and go to pharos.ad.biola.edu/uniprint/Packages.asp
2Locate and click on the name of your department.
3Save the printer installer file to your computer's desktop.
4Locate the printer installer file on your computer's desktop and double-click on it.
5Click the Yes button on the pop-up window.
6Click the Install button on the Pharos installer window.
7Click the Finish button once the install has completed.

Copying & Scanning

How to do it

Press the Copy button below the screen to choose the function you'd like to do.

7Place your document on the glass, or in the top feeder for multiple pages.
8Enter the number of copies on the number pad.
9Press the green Start button.

 How to Scan on a Copier

How to do it

1

Slide your Biola ID card on the copier.

Note: If you don't have your ID card, you can type your NetID and password.

2Select a Cost Center.
3Select Department Account.
4Select the correct account for billing.

Select OK, then select OK again.

Press the Fax/Scan button below the screen.

Note: This opens the Address Book.

Select the Email Me button to send the scan to your email account.

8Select your personal share point button to scan to your share point folder. (Example: "PC (SMB) FirstName")
9Place your document on the glass, or in the top feeder for multiple pages.

Press the green Start button.

Note

Gmail file size limit is 25MB (about 25 pages BW, 10 pages Color).

You will not see a confirmation message. Check your email account to confirm.

Click the Access button twice on the control panel to log out.

Note: If you forget this step, it will automatically log out after two minutes.
