How to Import Bookmarks from a HTML File



Introduction


This page describes how to import browser bookmarks from a .HTML file.




Process Description


BrowserWhat to do
Safari
  1. Open the Safari browser.
  2. Click File > Import From > Bookmarks HTML File...
  3. Click on Desktop on the left side of the pop-up window.
  4. Locate the Safari Bookmarks.html file and click the Import button.
Firefox
  1. Open the Firefox browser.
  2. Click the books iconon the top right of the browser window.
  3. Click Bookmarks > Show All Bookmarks
  4. Click on the Star button and select Import Bookmarks from HTML...
  5. Click on Desktop on the left side of the pop-up window.
  6. Locate the Firefox Bookmarks.html file and click the Open button.


Chrome
  1. Open the Chrome browser.
  2. Click the menu button on the top right of the browser window.
  3. Click Bookmarks > Import Bookmarks and Settings...
  4. Select Bookmarks HTML File from the dropdown on the pop-up menu and click the Choose File button.
  5. Click on Desktop on the left side of the pop-up window.
  6. Locate the Chrome Bookmarks.html file and click the Open button.


Internet Explorer

  1. Open the Internet Explorer browser.
  2. Click the Favorites button on the top right of the browser window.
  3. Click the down arrow button on the top right of the pop-up window and select the Import and export... option.
  4. Click the Import from a file option and click the Next > button.
  5. Check the Favorites check box and click the Next > button.
  6. Click the browse button and then click on Desktop on the left side of the pop-up window.
  7. Locate the Internet Explorer Bookmarks.html file and click the Open button.
Edge


  1. Open the Edge browser.
  2. Click the Hub button on the top right of the browser window and then click the gear icon .
  3. Click the Import from another browser button.
  4. Click the Import from file button.
  5. Click on Desktop on the left side of the pop-up window.
  6. Locate the Edge Bookmarks.html file and click the Open button.
