How to Find Your Java Version on a Mac
Mac OS 10.7.3 or later
Step | What to Do | How It Looks |

1 | Click the Apple icon in the upper left corner, and select System Preferences. | |
2 | Click on the Java icon to access the Java Control Panel which will list your Java version. If you do not see a Java icon under System Preferences, Java 7 or above is not installed. |
Mac OS 10.7.2 or earlier
Step | What to Do | How It Looks |

1 | Open Spotlight (click the magnifying glass icon) in the upper right corner, and type “Java Preferences”. | |
2 | A window will open that lists the different versions of Java you are running. Under the Version column, you will see the exact release. It should say 1.6.0_35 or above. |
