Troubleshooting and Minix PC Digital Sign
Here are troubleshooting steps to follow from the Helpdesk for a digital sign:
- Display is not showing the content
- The content is web-based, so the issue could be network related.
- Use Rundeck to check the status of the digital sign remotely
- Login to rundeck.biola.edu (full-timer only)
- Use the "Digital Signage" project type and run the "Restart Digital Sign" job.
- This restarts the Minix PC and verifies that it is reachable over the network.
- Verify that all cables are plugged-in correctly.
- Use Rundeck to check the status of the digital sign remotely
- The content is web-based, so the issue could be network related.
- The display is showing some error message over the digital sign content
- Take a picture of the error message.
- Use Rundeck to restart the Minix computer (see steps above)
- If that doesn't resolve it, escalate to a sysadmin, include the picture of the error.
